Children in Need
To raise money for Children in Need, we came to school in our pyjamas. Volunteers have also been selling wrist bands all week. Callum decided to raise a little more money by doing a sponsored silence. Altogether the school has raised nearly £500 for this good cause.
Tag rugby
On Tuesday, two teams went to Diss High School to participate in a tag rugby tournament. With 13 other teams there, there were plenty of matches, through which skills were learnt and practised.
The B team improved much through the afternoon, and by their final match they won with ease, and finished 9th in the competition. The A team won all their matches in the league, and then played a tight final against Bressingham, losing by a single try.
Both teams qualify for the next round of the competition as the large schools winners, which will be
held at Wymondham College in February.

Evacuee Experience Day
As part of our Second World War topic we went to Sheringham for an Evacuee Experience day. We all had to dress up so that we looked just as children and adults did at the start of the war. Mrs Roach met us as we got off the coach and explained that we would be travelling back in time to 1939.
We went in the village hall where local people came to "select" children to live with them. Some boys and girls were chosen quickly as the locals thought they might be able to do some work for them on the farm or help in their shop.
At lunchtime we made our own sandwiches using war time rations - 2 slices of spam or one small spoonful of cheese.
We helped with some gardening and learnt about "Dig for Victory". Carrots were important in the war as they helped people to see in the blackout.
There was a small cottage furnished exactly as it would have been during the war. We looked in all the rooms and helped with a few chores.
The day finished with some singing (favourites like "Run Rabbit" and "We're Going to Hang Out the Washing") and some drill.
When we finally returned to 2013 everyone agreed that it had been a brilliant day - we had been given an insight into what it felt like to be an evacuee and had learnt a lot along the way.

Harvest
Yesterday we went to Roydon Church to celebrate harvest. The church was decorated with pears, apples and flowers and the table at the front of the church was full of packaged and canned food. When we got there we sung a song called Let's Celebrate. After that Otters and Owls performed a poem called Our Teacher Says. Then we all sung the second song which was But it's God who gives the harvest. Mr Santy's class chanted a poem about fruit and veg. Ms Barrow and Mrs Walsh's classes sang about a harvest rainbow. Then we sung Harvest Song which was my favourite.
Cannon Billet, the vicar, showed us food items like pasta and told us how important water was. If there was no water, most things wouldn't exist, all the life would die and the earth would turn into a dry desert. When the service ended Cannon Billet asked us the question "What can we do to help people that don't have water?" I think the answer to the question is we should donate money and build fresh water pumps to help them.
