Internet Safety Day

Both classes have been doing some internet safety work, using the Cyber Cafe online to research and find out tips about how to use the internet properly and safely.  Some of the children then designed some posters to tell others what they had learnt.

Sports events

It's been a busy couple of weeks for the 6/5 children who have been taking part in sports events.  Firstly, a group of 20 year 6 pupils went to the UEA to compete in the next round of the Sportshall Athletics competition.  The field events came first, including long jump, triple jump, vertical jump, javelin, chest push and speed bounce.  Then there were various relay races.  All the children competed hard, but they were up against some very fast children from other schools in the area.

On the Friday of the same week, a group of boys and girls went to the Norwich City ground to take part in a football tournament.  They came third overall.

Tag rugby was next, with both the A and B teams having qualified for the area finals.  There were some very close matches, even between the 2 teams, when the A team won by just one try.  The A team were in the play off for the final, which was taken to extra time and a golden try, sadly losing to Robert Kett.  They then played another tight match, finishing third overall.

This week has been the year 5 and 6 cross country competitions.  On a wet and muddy day, the children ran well, with Joseph Boardman finishing 7th and qualifying for the next round.

Well done to all who have taken part.
